Adventures to the Arboretum
Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls, Boy Scouts, and Trail Life Troops are all invited to learn with us.
General Visit as a scouting group:
$2.00 per troop member
One free adult for every 10 troop members. Each additional adult is $5.00 each.
Bus drivers are free.
Picnic lunches are allowed. Several picnic areas are available. Please remove all trash from the property. What you bring in, must be taken out.

Program ad-ons:
Programs can accommodate up to 30 people total (troop members and adults)
$20 Rapid Program: 20–30 minute programs to fit curriculum needs
$30 Short Program: 45–60 program that includes hands on exploration, inquiry driven activities to meet curriculum needs.
$50 long program: 90–120 minute program that dives deep into the curriculum with hands on activities, and inquiry driven lessons.

Lesson topics include:
East Texas Heritage: Tours of the school house, discovery barn, and historic Wofford House.
Food Webs: Explore what layers go into an ecosystem and how different flora and fauna each play their part. Focus on forest, meadow, or pond ecology.
Layers of a habitat: What are the ingredients to a habitat? Students investigate if the natural spaces at the Arboretum have all that they need.
Plant and Animal Adaptations: Making it in the wild can be tough, but plants and animals have figured out the secrets of survival.
Art in Nature: Role up your sleeves and let's make some art!
We can build a special lesson or PBL experience for your troop's needs.
